Dr. Ale Ceballos, MSc, DVM, CVA was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 2001. When her children were old enough and full-time in school she went back to university to fulfill her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She completed her undergrad at UWO in Conservation Biology and a Masters at MacMaster working with bats!!
She applied 3 times to vet school before being accepted! She completed her DVM in 2018 at OVC and completed an internship in Emergency and Critical Care at CanWest in Vancouver. She started her veterinary career in Emergency working for a busy referral hospital in Mississauga.
Ale soon realized the need for alternative ways to manage pain, specially in geriatric patients. She completed her certification in veterinary acupuncture, a certification in veterinary spinal manipulation and is currently pursuing her Masters in Integrative Medicine at Chi University.
Ale opened her own mobile practice for integrative pain management and at home euthanasias in Ontario, Thrive Veterinary Mobile Services. She recently moved to Kelowna, BC, where she’s in the process of opening her mobile practice. Ale continues to practice Emergency medicine also.
Dr. Ale is truly passionate about pain management, end-of-life care, emergency medicine and encouraging future veterinarians to keep an open mind! She believes it’s never too late to follow your dreams!
