Volunteer Opportunity with Ottawa Dog Rescue

The position title is Vetting Coordinator.

Here’s a quick overview of the volunteer role:
  • Hybrid position (5–10 hours/week) – you can work from anywhere with a reliable laptop. Access to Gmail, Google Sheets, and Adobe Acrobat (you’ll be given logins for all).
  • Flexible hours – great for students, with a supportive team that helps during busy periods like exams.
  • Optional in-person fundraising events in the Ottawa area – fun and a great way to meet the team, but not required.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Managing the spay/neuter list and coordinating with adopters and clinics
  2. Sending out and redacting medical records
  3. Tracking the medical needs of dogs in care (vaccines, preventatives, vet visits, etc.)
  4. Communicating with adopters about medical questions or concerns
  5. Collaborating with the ODR team to discuss medical cases
  6. Reaching out to adopters for post-adoption updates

It’s a great way to get involved in animal rescue and gain practical experience in medical coordination and client communication.

If anyone is interested in applying or learning more, please reach out to [email protected].
